Introduction
The Doctoral Program in Basic and Applied Research in Veterinary Sciences, proposes advanced and specialized training in the body of conceptual, procedural and technical knowledge that allows adequate development in the field of biomedical sciences. This Program is characterized by its interdisciplinarity, covering basic, applied and clinical areas. It has the participation of different research groups that develop their activity in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Presentation
In the Autonomous Community of Galicia, with an agro-livestock profile so important from a socioeconomic point of view, a proposal to integrate basic and applied research in veterinary medicine, together with clinical practice, will result in a higher quality of healthcare and diagnostic services. and advice that are provided today and in a better, and faster, implementation of scientific advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Since the use of animals in biomedical experimentation is well known, even being considered as models of human diseases, the initiation of any researcher in these sciences, in the basic and applied knowledge that is offered, is highly recommended. in this proposal.
