The purpose of doctoral studies in the field of Philosophy of Religion is for students to cultivate, in the usual way for advanced studies, their ability to examine, using philosophical tools and approaches, religious phenomena and issues relating to the religious dimension of human culture, including theological thought and its traditions. Students learn to reflect critically on these approaches and their results and to interpret them both in their specific context and within the framework of current academic knowledge. In direct connection with its multidisciplinary nature, this study program develops the skills necessary for analyzing complex issues, and students learn to combine various specialist perspectives and discourses in evaluating specific findings and testing hypotheses, while at the same time ensuring that the methods used are appropriate, the thinking is precise, and complex or controversial problems are expressed clearly. The study program not only leads to the acquisition of expert knowledge and skills, but also develops the ability to understand views, concepts, teachings and theories that are non-traditional or differ from one’s own, cultivates argumentative approaches to critical debate, and refines the ability to evaluate oneself and to formulate one’s own opinion or position.

The purpose of doctoral studies in the field of Biblical Theology is for students to cultivate, in the usual way for advanced studies, their ability to think theologically and to deepen their knowledge in the relevant biblical theology disciplines on an expert level. The field covers all aspects of the specialist study of the Bible, such as theological, literary, and historical factors. Studies focus on either the Old Testament or the New Testament field. They include the examination of biblical texts in their relevance for religious and cultural traditions. Depending on the specific dissertation project, studies may deal with textual, linguistic, literary, literary-historical, historiographical, religious, or cultural issues. Normally, they must also raise questions about the theological profile or overall testimony of Scripture in relation to relevant theological questions, and also deal with issues of understanding, communication, and interpretation. The branch develops manufacturing technologies in mechanical engineering by deepening the knowledge of natural and economic disciplines. The latest knowledge and methods of research in the field of technological processes and their management are developed and applied. The aim of the study is to acquire competencies and abilities for independent and team scientific and creative work. The graduate is prepared for research and teaching professions in structured departments of scientific and academic institutions and other technically oriented subjects and companies.

The Ph.D. study program Communication technology is focused on the scientific and academic education of experts who make their careers in the fields of research and development or in academia. Throughout their study, the Ph.D. students are an integral part of ongoing RD projects. They actively publish the findings of their scientific work and are introduced to the scientific community by their mentors. The study requires a minimum of four academic years of study. After the successful defense of the thesis, the students are awarded the Ph.D. degree.

The aim of the doctoral study program "Thermal Engineering and Fuels in Industry" is the scientific education of professionals who are able to creatively solve scientific research problems in the field of thermal engineering, energy, fuel chemistry, ceramic materials especially for high temperatures and material and energy utilization of waste. . The graduate is able to independently identify and formulate a scientific problem, design and develop a method of solution and implement theoretical, experimental, computational or simulation activities aimed at solving the problem. Graduates of the field are ready to develop and design new technologies and thermal-technical and energy equipment, as well as to increase the technical level of existing ones, especially with regard to increasing productivity, saving fuels and energy while minimizing environmental impact.

Doctoral study program Chemical metallurgy is a modern scientifically oriented, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research program. The study is mainly oriented on the chemical aspects of preparation, extraction and recycling of metallic materials and the characterization of these materials. Furthermore, the study program is focused on the study of other inorganic materials in the solid and liquid phases. The processes of metals extracting from primary and secondary raw materials, the study of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and also ecological aspects of metallurgical production impact on the environmenareis studied. The doctoral study program is focused on aspects of industrial technologies arising mainly from a chemical-physical basis and on the properties study of inorganic materials for the broad application areas. The doctoral study program Geoinformatics offers a modern interdisciplinary study based on a combination of technical and natural-science foundations. The program develops knowledge in the field of theoretical concepts of geoinformatics (GIscience) as well as in areas such as remote sensing of the Earth's surface by satellites and unmanned systems, building of spatial databases, use of spatial analysis, spatial modelling and simulations, artificial intelligence or advanced GNSS measurement processing and geovisualisation. Students can focus on applying their own geoinformation solutions, e.g. in transport, agriculture, forestry, geomorphology, hydrology, environment, social geography, criminology or studying social networks. The study program addresses current trends within the framework of strategic requirements of the state administration expressed in GeoInfoStrategie+, 4.0 industry requirements and 4.0 society, development of remote sensing methods, big geodata, cloud solutions, geoweb services, as well as geocomputation. The Geoinformatics study program provides highly-erudite creative experts with career prospects in the area of scientific research and development, state administration, or the industrial sphere.
