Introduction
This program brings together the teams and researchers that form the reference nucleus of linguistic studies in the Galician University System, with researchers from different areas of knowledge and from different languages in the same lines of research. This cooperation between different areas and disciplines allows us to offer a more open training, with theoretical approaches and current methodologies, as well as allowing working with different languages. It also has the collaboration of a significant number of international relief experts.
The program offers new doctors a complete and coherent training, within greater international cooperation and in an appropriate environment for multidisciplinary work, in accordance with the demands of today's society. The research lines offered in the program guarantee both advanced training in grammatical theory and in the already consolidated lines of linguistic research, as well as training in more recent lines, such as corpus linguistics, natural language processing, applied linguistics, variationist linguistics, among other.

Ideal Students
To access the doctoral program in Linguistics without additional training, it will be necessary for students to complete:
- Any master's degree specialized in Linguistics offered by a Spanish or EHEA university.
- Students who had completed the Master's Degree in Linguistic Studies, the Master's Degree in English Studies, offered at the USC, or those who may be implemented in the future as a result of the transformation of the current ones.
- Students from the master's degrees in Linguistics and its applications (Univ. of Vigo and A Coruña) and in Language and Professional Uses (Univ. of A Coruña), or those that are implemented in the future as a result of their transformation.
- Graduates in master's degrees from other Spanish and European universities with a specialization in Linguistics, such as the Master's Degrees in Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts (Univ. of Barcelona), Spanish Language and Linguistics (Univ. of Oviedo), Spanish Language : Research and Professional Practices (Univ. Autonomous of Madrid), Spanish as a Second Language (Univ. Complutense of Madrid), Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (Univ. of Salamanca), Teaching of ELE: Language, Culture and Methodology (Univ. of Granada), Higher Studies of Spanish Language (Univ. of Granada).
- Students with the DEA degree obtained through the "Linguistics" programs of the USC, in "Galician Linguistics", interuniversity of the USC, UDC and UVigo.
In the case of other types of profiles different from the previous ones, the Academic Committee will evaluate each case individually. The possibility of requiring training supplements (maximum up to 15 ETCS) will be considered.
In the case of other profiles that had not completed a Master's degree, they will meet a training equivalence in research credits, at least equal to those of the master's degrees that give direct access, which will be 30 ECTS. Given that advanced training in linguistic research requires solid prior training, both theoretical and practical, it is considered necessary for students to demonstrate bachelor's and master's degrees with specialization in languages and linguistics. If not, the academic committee will establish in each case the necessary training complements, depending on the academic curriculum of each student and the line of research to which they wish to join. These training complements may consist of subjects from the degrees of Modern Languages and Literatures, Galician Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, offered at the USC, or other degrees with content in Linguistics that are eventually implemented in the future. In some specific cases, Linguistics subjects offered at other Galician or Spanish universities may also be taken as training complements. Subjects from the master's degree in Linguistic Studies, taught at the USC, from other master's degrees with a specialization in Linguistics from Galician universities, or from other master's degrees that may result from the transformation of those currently in existence, may also be required as training complements. In any case, the extension of these training complements will be between 6 and 15 credits.
